Every project I finish leaves behind a pile of notes: measurements on scrap wood, a parts list on the back of a receipt, a photo of how the wires went before I took them apart. This blog is where those notes end up.

What to expect

Each project write-up covers the same things, because they're the things I always wanted to know before I started:

• The tools and materials, with what I actually spent
• The time it really took, not the time the video promised
• The steps, in order, with photos
• What went wrong and how I fixed it

How it's organized

Projects are the bigger builds. How-To posts are single repairs you can finish in an afternoon. Tools posts cover what's worth owning.
